2027 Calendar project – Our By Invitation Only pathway pairs newer printers with experienced operators so they can design and print their month together on a capable press. All participants and AHP members will be sent a copy of the finished Calendar in time for the new year.

2026 Wayzgoose in Whanganui
The AHP hosted Wayzgoose 2026 was a roaring success from start to finish, bringing together handcraft printers, bookbinders, artists, and friends from across Aotearoa for a memorable celebration of our crafts, community, and shared passion.
A huge thank you goes to everyone who attended, presented, volunteered, exhibited, and helped make the event such an enjoyable and enriching experience. The enthusiasm, generosity, and creativity on display made this year’s gathering one to remember.
A particular highlight was the discovery of a photograph from the last Wayzgoose held in Whanganui, dating from 1930. Unearthed by the curator at the Whanganui Regional Museum, it proved a wonderful and unexpected connection to the rich history of printers’ gatherings in New Zealand.

With the event now concluded, AHP is delighted to hand the baton back to ABC, who will host the next Wayzgoose in 2027. While details are still under wraps, we’ve heard a rumour that the next gathering may be heading to “the mainland” in Te Waipounamu, the South Island.

Print Swap
Fifteen letterpress printers accepted the challenge of creating a print inspired by the theme Stars for the inaugural Invitational Print Swap. The images below showcase the resulting collection, reflecting the creativity, skill and diversity of contemporary letterpress printing.
The prints will be on public display for one day only, on Saturday 20 September at the Whanganui Regional Museum, before being auctioned in small bundles at the Wayzgoose Dinner that evening. This is a rare opportunity to view the complete collection together before the works find new homes. ✨
